First Ever Canine Improvement Study by Rogue Pet Science

Ever hear the saying, “The gut is our second brain?”

Well, the rate of current research is showing that the gut may be the “primary brain” when it comes to controlling health and wellness outcomes for our pet’s bodies. The ability of the GI tract and its environment is known by many experts to be the focal point or bottleneck of health changes when significant changes are made that benefit the many pH zones, intestinal lining health & activity, microbial populations, and food sources made available for them.

Origins Canine 5in1 has created a new product market sector in the pet industry with their novel Whole Food Topper + Gut Health System that directly addresses the GI tract and gut environmental factors specifically. The process of making multiple changes, with the right products, in the right ratios can have body-wide impacts within a short period of time...not months! After 6 years of use with multiple dog kennels to develop Origins 5in1 and 2 years after public release, Origins has proven to be more than just a “good product” rather the only product to make noticeable health improvements within 30 days! IF this doesn’t sound impressive enough, then you don’t know all of the confusion in the marketplace or see all the lackluster claims product manufacturers say only to have insignificant or minor changes on a good day. Those other companies’ products are good at talking your money. This result is why Rogue Pet Science was formed and destined to change!

Given plenty of evidence in hand of Origins 5in1 ability to improve unhealthy issues and further improve performance dog ability, a collaboration was formed to demonstrate what no one else has done. What was that? Show just how much changes in 30 days once a dog has Origins 5in1 added to their daily food. Sounds simple but it wasn’t as this wasn’t some puff study or one that counted on observations that aren’t quantifiable. No, collaboration is needed to measure the metabolic changes, multiple hormone productions, as well as blood chemistry. SO the first ever Canine Improvement Study was born!

The lead project veterinarian was Dr. Shannon Miller of Dogwood Animal Hospital, whose clinic recruited the dogs, recorded weights, pulled all fasted blood samples, and sent samples off to IDEXX laboratory for chemistry (Chem 10 panel) and to ANSH Labs for biomarker testing. Dr. Kannan Alpadi was the lead for all biomarker testing looking for metabolic markers (GLP-1, GLP-2, Glucagon, C-Peptide, OXM) and reproduction biomarkers (AMH). No changes to the dog’s daily routine, care, handling, or environment were changed other than the addition of Origins 5in1.

Conducting a feeding trial in a real-world scenario is where products fail to show changes that would add value to a dog’s health and why other pet companies don’t publish their findings when they do run studies. So this is where Rogue Pet Science started at! The outcome of the Canine Improvement Study further reinforced all of the changes Origins customers report and even further insight into the mechanisms of action were learned why dog’s fed Origins 5in1 get better in multiple aspects. Study results also proved in line with existing research known for AMH in female dogs, but also showed Origins can improve AMH levels in female dogs in 30 days, which wasn’t thought possible.

“The ability to tackle minor and complex health issues in dogs and cats isn’t a daydream or something that will happen 5 years from now. It’s not only available right now, but it's in a natural-based product that is affordable for less than $0.69 a day!,” says Rogue Pet Science’s Founder Nathan Dewsbury. There are many thought leaders and dog awareness personalities on social media these days, says Blake Jackson (Co-Owner of Rogue Pet Science), but none of them have developed a product nor do they bring a proven & viable solution to the table that’s attainable by all pet owners across the world.

An abstract was submitted and accepted for oral presentation at the ICP 2019 international conference. The data from the Rogue Canine Improvement Study was used to develop this abstract. The presentation will be conducted by Dr. Kannan Alpadi in Prague, Czech Republic.
